Introducing: Jackson Pentland as Bottom in Mechanicals’ Macbeth at Criterion Showcase!

We are excited to announce Jackson Pentland as Bottom in Mechanicals’ Macbeth for the Criterion New Writing Showcase!

Jackson trained at the University of Bristol and the Bristol Academy of Performing Arts. He has toured the UK and Ireland in Much Ado About Nothing (Benedick), The Wind in the Willows (Toad), The Hound of the Baskervilles (Watson), A Christmas Carol (Present/Fezziwig), as well as touring internationally to China in the Jungle Book (Baloo) and Dubai in The Pirates of Dinosaur Island (Major Potts/Lucky Jim). Other roles include Peter Rabbit and Friends (Mrs Tiggywinkle), Danny the Champion of the World (Dad), Anonymous Anonymous (George), The Peregrine (Doroteo), The Importance of Being Earnest (Lady Bracknell), and of course A Midsummer Night’s Dream most recently as Oberon/Theseus but Mechanicals’ Macbeth will be the third appearance of Jackon’s Bottom on the professional stage.

Jackson is also working with us as composer/Musical director.

As a composer and musical director Jackson has worked with Chapterhouse Theatre Company, Blue/Orange, GB Theatre Company, and Second Best Bed for whom he wrote lyrics, composed, and arranged a variety of songs ranging from Schubert-esque ballads to contemporary pop and rock songs. He writes folk and traditional music for Shakespeare plays including a collaboration with In Souliloquy for Et Tu.

Introducing: Diana Kessler as Jessica.

Jessica In Spring is our seasonal souliloquy for the spring months of 2017 – and we are delighted to welcome Diana Kessler into the role. We have recently filmed this lovely piece and it is due to be released before we hit Summer solstice!

After stints in Berlin and the US, Diana is delighted to now be based in London. She’s performed and produced plays at the English Theatre Berlin, BATS Theatre in Wellington, and the Tristan Bates and Cockpit theatres in London. She trained with Dominic Kelly at the salon:collective and with Mary Docherty in The Actors Class, and is honing her directing skills in The Directors Cut. Diana is excited to be putting her German language skills to use in her current job, where she’s the voice of main character Roshni in the German version of “Jamai Raja”, a popular Indian TV show.

We are delighted to have Diana as part of our In Souliloquy family!

Introducing: Jennifer Aries as Goneril. #EtTu

We are excited to announce Jennifer Aries as Goneril for the second instalment of our Et Tu series of dualogues. A daughter of Lear and a Queen in her own right Goneril is meeting Iachimo from Cymbaline to compare notes (and wine) on their legacies and futures.

Recently completed filming on Sky Atlantic’s “The Tunnel”, Jennifer’s most recent screen appearance was as Mary Cox in “Ripper Street”. From being a series regular in BAFTA nominated comedy sketch show “Little Miss Jocelyn” to a plot pivotal character in Charlie Brooker’s “Dead Set”, Jennifer has enjoyed some great jobs in popular TV shows. Having done her time up in Edinburgh, and part of a creative collective “The Director’s Cut” she enjoys collaboration and new writing, performing regularly in showcases of new material with fresh talent & rehearsed readings. Her creative inspirations and idols are Julia Davis and Steve Coogan, and a job with either of these would be a dream come true! She is currently working on her short film with a view to entering it into next year’s festivals.

Et Tu: Iachimo and Goneril is currently in post production and coming soon in Summer 2017!

Introducing: Jonathan Cobb as Flute/Witch Two for Mechanicals’ Macbeth: A Witches Extract!

Returning to our stage again we welcome Jonathan Edward Cobb as Flute and Witch Two for Mechanicals’ Macbeth: A Witches Extract for Attila theatre’s Parkland Pop-Up Shakespeare 2017.

Jonathan graduated from Drama Studio London in 2014, and in 2015  was very lucky to perform out at Vienna’s English Theatre as Justin in ‘The Fox on The Fairway’. He has toured three Shakespeare productions; ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (Romeo), ‘King Lear’ (Edmund) and ‘Measure for Measure’ (Lucio) with Quite Right Theatre around Italy and recently has been performing in ‘The Sentence Snatchers’ at The Rialto Theatre in Brighton. He has filmed the feature film ‘Hippopotamus’ Recently finished performing as Idle Jack in ‘Beauty and The Beast’ at The Leatherhead Theatre. He Appeared as Malvolio and Sebastian in C Theatre’s ‘Shakespeare in The Garden: Twelfth Night’ at C South (Venue 58) St Peters Church as part of the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe.

Introducing: Yvan Karlsson as Starveling/Witch Three for Mechanicals’ Macbeth: A Witches Extract!

We are delighted to welcome Yvan Karlsson to our In Souliloquy family for Mechanicals’ Macbeth A Witches Extract for Parkland Pop-Up Shakespeare 2017! Yvan is playing Starveling and Witch Three for this exciting part in our R&D.

Since graduating from John Curtin College of the Arts in Perth, Western Australia, in 2014. Yvan has performed with Royale De Luxe on ‘THE GIANTS’, with Force Majure on their development of You, Animal You. He was an emerging artist with Spare Parts Puppet Theatre where he trained and then went on to perform in SPLAT! and Nobody Owns The Moon. As a creator, Yvan co-created Ophelia a Dance/Theatre work for FringeWorld 2016, Choreographed and performed ‘Player’ for Insitu 2016. And then Recently Yvan completed the Curious School of Puppetry in London, where he is now based.

Mechanicals’ Macbeth – A Witches Extract is on as part of Attila Theatre’s Pop Up Shakespeare event in the Crouch End Festival.
